Title: Insurance Appointment Specialist Reports to: Insurance Appointment Leader Biz Segment: Strategic Operations Job Description: The main responsibilities of this role are to track and manage agency and individual appointments with carrier partners. This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned BRP agencies across all operating groups are properly appointed with required insurance carrier partners, and that all facets of those appointments align with the articulated business strategy. This includes, though is not limited to, code and subcode assignment, commission payment routing setup, systems access, data download information tracking, individual appointment management, and completing appointment applications and renewals. This position will learn, execute and improve the processes, procedures, and systems to best manage BRP firms' and colleagues' appointments with insurance carrier partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as point of contact for administrative appointment functions between assigned business segments and insurance company partners. Coordinate with the firm's legal and licensing teams to ensure company registrations and state licensing is properly established and up to date in order to process appointments. Maintain a log of all firm codes and subcodes with each insurance company partner as assigned. Coordinate with the firm's accounting team and the insurance company partners to ensure that all commissions for assigned accounts are properly routed and paid to the designated accounts. Coordinate with business segment, accounting and IT team leaders to ensure that insurance company partners grant appropriate credentials to access their systems and properly route all automated downloads. Track and manage assigned firm and colleague appointments with each insurance company partner as assigned. Establish processes, procedures, and identify and implement the systems to best manage these appointments. Manage projects to transfer appointments and commissions for newly partnered companies and acquisitions. Complete all new appointment applications and renewals for existing and newly partnered companies and acquisitions in a timely manner. Advise business leaders to inform their decisions regarding the business strategy to pursue with each insurance carrier partner to maximize contingent income and minimize loss ratio risk. Rapidly generate reports related to appointments as regularly established or requested. Actively participate and collaborate with colleagues across BRP during firm process and project reviews, and share recommendations for improvements to company processes, policies and procedures. Exhibit the firm's values as articulated in the BRP Azimuth Other duties as assigned Skills & Experience Desired Excellent organizational skills with high detail Excellent diplomatic communication skills, both verbal and written Experience with managing projects Experience with data analysis resulting in process improvements Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook) Experience and technical knowledge related to managing appointments and commissions with insurance companies is highly preferred. Experience with agency management systems (AMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is preferred.
